Flashback Friday - Noxious at Fraggle

These pictures are from last year when our band gigged at Fraggle Rock, a pub across the water on the neighbouring island of Bryher. We've been gigging together since we were about 12 - so a good 10 years now which is mad! We only play covers and only really gig during the summer at a few of the pubs on Scilly, but it's good fun. I'm not really sure how I feel about the name 'Noxious' anymore - me and Dave, the guitarist and also my cousin, chose it when we first started out by looking up the word 'bad' in a thesaurus and finding a 'cool' version of it! Noxious had an 'x' in it - the definition of a 'cool' word when you're 12 or 13! Anyway the name's stuck and we always have a small but dedicated fan club over the summer months attending our gigs, singing along to the likes of Livin on a Prayer and Play that Funky Music.

My lovely friend Alice took these photos on her snazzy camera and uploaded them this week - brought back lots of good memories. I love playing at Fraggle because we set up just outside on their patio area meaning the acoustics and sound are amazing, and on a warm summer's night it makes the perfect dancefloor! This night we'd had torrential rain all day and almost cancelled, but luckily it cleared at the perfect moment, meaning our fan club could turn out and still stay relatively dry!
