Gallifam

I was lucky enough to be blessed with some gorgeous galpals to hang out with this season...although sadly now the season's over we've all been separated, with most of them heading back to uni, leaving only me and Cam to live it up on the rock. This post is just to say thank you to my gallifam for such a fantastic summer, and I can't wait until we're all reunited in a couple of months

A post-work bevvy...

My evening so far has consisted of a bit of 'me-time' a.k.a G&T time on my decking, complete with sunshine and a lovely sea view. Can't complain really!

New Glasses

Well...it's been a while. I've practically forgotten how to write a blog post. But here goes.

As much as I'm not too pleased with my lack of posts recently at least this time its due to being busy with fun things rather than just having a cray time at work. I've got lots to blog about in the next couple of weeks so hoping to get back to posting a bit more regularly. The last couple of weekends have been insane (in a good way), with a cheeky last minute dash to the mainland for some shopping/driving/catch-ups, and then the 2013 World Pilot Gig Championships which is held over on Scilly, my lovely home-islands. So I'll fill you in on all of that soon! Mainland time also meant lots of new outfits so will get some outfit posts sorted too! It's all a little bit exciting...

For now here's a cheeky pic of my new glasses. I'm not sure whether my fake glasses obsession has really come out on my blog yet has it?! I'm loving these though, attempt at channeling my inner Francis Boulle.

This week...

For the last 10 days I've had the pleasure of housesitting for one of my lovely colleagues, and it's been an absolute dream. Lots of cooking, chilling, and topped off with some fantastic weather this weekend. Life is very good at the moment. Here's a few pics of what I've been up to...

I was off work on Friday afternoon which turned into the first proper beach day of the season! Great result apart from the fact that I managed to get some pretty ridic sunglasses tan-lines, much to the amusement of my friends/family.

Friday's awesomeness (is this a word?!) continued into the evening as the first gig race of the season took place. I went out and watched and managed to get a few nice snaps. And my brother and dad's crew ended up coming 2nd which was good considering most of their practice consisted of not rowing and drinking lots of beer!

Spoilt again by the weather on Saturday, and although I was working I definitely made the most of the sunny evening with first beach picnic of the year. Caught a pretty special sunset too (you know I'm a sucker for a good sunset!)

This Evening

After work today I scrambled up the hill behind my house, bottle of beer in hand, and sat up on the rocks just taking in the view for a while. It was really nice. Gorgeous sunny day today which always helps!

Shoutout Sunday - 2013

I've seen a few other bloggers doing posts every now and then about the things they're thankful for, which I think is a really nice idea. I thought for this new blog I'd do something similar, and do a 'shoutout' every Sunday to something/someone I'm grateful for.

This week I've chosen 2013, which I know sounds a bit random but I've got a really good feeling about this year. So far I've already had loads of fun and a few great things happen too. This year will most likely be my last season spent on Scilly, so I'm ready to embrace it, do all the things I always say I'll get round to doing here but never do, spend lots of time with the amazing people I'm lucky enough to know, and just generally live life to the full!

Sunsets

I'm obsessed with taking photos of sunsets. My house is perched on the corner of a bay facing west which proves the perfect vantage point for photographing the sun dipping down behind the neighbouring island of Bryher. I love keeping an eye on the skyline, trying to decide which nights are going to produce the perfect orangey pinky mottled mixture of colours. I don't think there are many places in the country which produce more spectacular sunsets than Scilly. I've heard the sunrises are great too but it's a while since I dragged myself out of bed early enough to witness one...
