Christmas Sparkle

Yet again it's been a while since I posted - I've already decided my No.1 New Year's resolution is to be a better blogger! Luckily I found a couple of minutes yesterday in between unwrapping and turkey-related chaos to snap a couple of Christmas day outfit pics.

These sequin trousers were only a tenner in the River Island sale last year, which is about how much I can justify paying for an item that is only wearable for about 2 weeks per year! Teamed with a simple white blouse and understated nude heels I think they're the perfect piece to bring a bit of festive razzle dazzle to an outfit!

Dairy Flat

We're currently house-sitting for one of my lovely colleagues while she's away. Dairy Flat is such a cute cottage and the perfect backdrop for a few outfit pics. 

Here I'm wearing my absolute favourite winter skirt which I rediscovered last week when I did the annual summer to winter wardrobe changeover (most satisfying thing ever? I think so). I bagged it in the New Look sale last year, such a classic shape and style. Normally I wear it with a chunky knit but thought I'd try something a bit different today so teamed it with a simple blouse under a thin military style pullover, and my leopard print ankle boots (I'm currently having a bit of a moment with these - can you tell?!). I quite enjoy the leopard/tartan pattern clash - plus what's winter without animal print and a bit of check!

Puffin

I'm very excited to share these pics with you - I think they're my fave blog pics so far, although in fairness they haven't got a lot to compete with as usually my pics are the product of a wonky tripod and a post-self-timer dash! This time I've managed to recruit a new 'photographer' and am very pleased with the results...

I'm also loving the setting - have just spent a week in Puffin, which is one of the holiday cottages on Tresco, my home-island. I wish I'd taken a few more pics of the interior but the patio and steps down onto the beach is just as, if not more, exciting. Took these just as the sun was setting and am very happy with how they came out.

New Vans

Anyone who follows me on Twitter has probably seen me bore on about how I want a pair of genuine Vans for a while now. Well, I've finally taken the plunge and bought some. The only thing stopping me was choice of colour (I'm a terrible decision maker), but when I was away recently and found a newly-opened Vans store in Truro these beauties caught my eye. It was a toss up between them and a similar pair in aqua, but as only the coral ones were available in my size the decision was made for me (thankfully, or it could have been a looooong process!).

New Glasses

Well...it's been a while. I've practically forgotten how to write a blog post. But here goes.

As much as I'm not too pleased with my lack of posts recently at least this time its due to being busy with fun things rather than just having a cray time at work. I've got lots to blog about in the next couple of weeks so hoping to get back to posting a bit more regularly. The last couple of weekends have been insane (in a good way), with a cheeky last minute dash to the mainland for some shopping/driving/catch-ups, and then the 2013 World Pilot Gig Championships which is held over on Scilly, my lovely home-islands. So I'll fill you in on all of that soon! Mainland time also meant lots of new outfits so will get some outfit posts sorted too! It's all a little bit exciting...

For now here's a cheeky pic of my new glasses. I'm not sure whether my fake glasses obsession has really come out on my blog yet has it?! I'm loving these though, attempt at channeling my inner Francis Boulle.
